The most relevant trends on Sunday were:
- #Wimbledon – The final of world’s oldest tennis championship was played between Roger Federer and Andy Murray on Sunday, and culminated in Federer winning his seventh Wimbledon title.
- Sourav Ganguly -The cricketer celebrated his 40th birthday on Sunday and also trended due to making a statement about regretting his hasty decision to retire from international cricket.
- Dara Singh – The 84-year-old wrestler-actor was admitted to hospital on Saturday due to a severe cardiac problem and is still in a critical condition.
- #casteism – The topic of the newest episode of Satyameva Jayate.
- Vidya Balan – Winning the ‘Best Actress’ Award at the IIFA Awards ceremony, telecast on Saturday night. Related trending topics were IIFA, Star Plus, Rekha and Prabhu Deva, among others.
